Unattended Dogs Crash Car Into Store

WAYNE, W.VA. (CBS13) - A woman who brought her dogs to the store but didn't want to bring them inside and didn't want them to be left in the car made a smart choice, she thought: leave them inside the car while it was running and with the A/C on.

That's when they decided to take the car for a drive.

When the car crashed into the building in Wayne, West Virginia, shoppers could hardly believe who was behind the wheel

"I didn't know dogs could drive!" a shopper told a WSAZ-TV reporter.

One employee says she saw the car slowly moving toward her and assumed someone was in the car messing with her until she noticed a dog's face in the driver's seat.

"Dogs can be your best friend. In this situation they can be your enemy too," she said.

The car then hit the building. That's when the employee says she saw another dog in the passenger's seat.

A sheriff's deputy says the car and the building had only minor damage. The dogs were just fine.

No charges have been reported.

The pet owner was able to drive the car home.
