Parents Of Slain Stockton Teen Surprised By Mayor Anthony Silva Arrest

STOCKTON (CBS13) - "It's hurting me, I'm cryin. I'm steady crying."

Willis Harris is reliving the murder of his 13 year old boy Rayshawn he laid to rest last year after hearing a man he trusted was locked up.

"I really thought he was on my side, but now with all this coming out, what's really going on?" Harris said.

The shocking allegations against Mayor Anthony Silva comes just days after Harris found out the gun used to murder his son was in fact the mayors.

"Can't be true. It was really unbelievable actually. It was shocking to find out that it was his gun," said Tora Spivey, RaShawn.

Harris said Silva was at his son's funeral and stood by their family, now they're wondering if it was all an act.

"He was sorrowful, he was helpful, he had a really wonderful words. Just can't believe that all of this is happening and coming up," Spivey said.

Rayshawn, affectionately called Ray Ray, was gunned down on South Sacramento Street in February 2015 while waiting for his school bus.

The DA's office said Silva reported the gun missing two weeks after the teen's death. Silva said it was stolen from a house he owned, but rented out.

"You don't live there, but you have all your weapons there. Then they take some weapons and leave some weapons?" said Ray Ray's father.

Still reeling with questions, Harris wants answers.

"Everybody wants to say Silva hasn't done nothing, Silva hasn't done nothing, why was Silva arrested for all of these other crimes and why did it take so long for somebody to tell me about my baby," he said.

The family said only time will tell and expect more will unfold.

"Truth is bound to come out it just seems like you would'd be more up front instead of letting all of these little things come up because now everything's coming up. So were just like what's next?" Spivey said.

The D.A.'s office said Silva is not cooperating with the investigation. Silva said that's not true.
