BREAKING: Sacramento Kings 2016-17 Schedule Announced

The Sacramento Kings have officially announced their 2016-17 regular season schedule. The Kings will open the season on the road against the Phoenix Suns on the evening of Wednesday, October 26th.

While the opening night of the season will gain attention, the real matchup fans are excited about is the first home game in the new Golden 1 Center.

The Kings will open their new venue on Thursday, October 27th against the San Antonio Spurs and the team will stay home to face the Houston Rockets on Friday, October 28th.

The Kings will then spend about a week on the road before returning home for almost three weeks.

Other important home games of note:

Sacramento host their rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, on November 10th.

On November 23rd, the kings will be visited by Russell Westbrook and OKC.

The Kings will host the Golden State Warriors on January 8th and February 4th, 2017.

Sacramento will face off against LeBron James and the defending NBA champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on January 13th, 2017.

The Kings stated there be change to the standard 7 pm start time for most home games:

For most Kings home games this season, tip-off has been changed to 7:30 p.m. to allow Kings fans ample time to adjust to a downtown sports and entertainment environment and better serve the downtown corridor. Kings fans now have an extra 30 minutes to navigate to their pre-paid parking spots, ride public transit and utilize the arena's bike valet station. In the coming weeks, the organization will release gameday transportation and parking information to inform fans on how to arrive at the new downtown arena, as well as a new team and arena app to enhance the game day experience with on-demand information on alternative transportation options, parking and more.
