Davis Massage Therapist Accused Of Sexual Battery

DAVIS (CBS13) — A Davis massage therapist is behind bars after being accused of sexual battery.

Davis Police arrested 44-year-old Rodwin Yamone Vibat of Woodland Thursday morning after one of Vibat's clients contacted police saying she was inappropriately touched by Vibat during a massage session last week.

According to police, Vibat rented out space at SynRG, a dance and wellness center at 907 3rd Street in Davis, to operate his own private massage business called: Oh My Aching Back.

"We've seen clients come through to go to the massage room," says freelance dance instructor Liz Colenzo. Colenzo says she's suprised by the news. "He's got his own massage business as far as I know, and there are other people who also rent space here."

The victim was a woman in her 30's who according to police knew Vibat well, and said he violated her trust.

Sgt James MacNiven with the Davis Police department says, "Without divulging tactics, the detectives involved and officers involved were able to develop probable cause to make an arrest in this case."

Clients who go to SynRG to work out or take dance classes said the news was troubling, but it wont stop them from coming back.

"What he does is very separate from the studio and I'm upset to hear that it's happening here, but it doesn't affect the classes that I take care, "says Natasha Worden.

"I just hope people know it's a completely separate business from the dance studio," says Colenzo.

Vibat was booked into Yolo County Jail on a felony sexual battery charge.

The Davis Police Department is exploring the possibility of additional victims

"Theres some hope that perhaps people that may have had a similar experience at this particular business with this individual would come forward, "says MacNiven.
