High School's Problem-Solving Rule Goes Viral

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS --  A private school for boys has been getting a lot of attention in response to signage posted on its front door.

The sign reads: "If you are dropping off your son's forgotten lunch, books homework equipment, etc., please turn around and exit the building. Your son will learn to problem-solve in your absence."

The school also posted the message on its Facebook page last week. It has since gone viral, being shared more than 116,000 times in eight days.

"It's simply to help boys avoid the default switch of calling mom and dad when things don't go right to bail them out," Principal Steve Straessle explained to KARK.

Some parents were upset because kids who forgot their lunches might be hungry. Principal Straessle assured everyone that won't happen because they know how to problem solve.

"It makes me think for myself and not rely on other people to do things for me," said senior Patrick Wingfield. "And if I make a mistake, I need to learn from it and try to fix it."
