Police: Man Driving Intoxicated Suspected Of Causing Deadly Elk Grove Crash

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police say a man has turned himself in connection to a crash that took the life of one person in Elk Grove.

The crash happened back on July 8 near Laguna Boulevard and Laguna Oaks Drive. Seven cars were involved in the crash.

Tuesday, 39-year-old Rajnel Nath turned himself in to authorities. Investigators say Nath allegedly caused the crash while intoxicated.

Nath has worked at N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility in Stockton since 2000 as a correctional officer, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirms. He has since been placed on paid administrative leave.

Nath was booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing several felony charges in connection to the deadly crash. He is being held on $450,000 bail.
