Investigators: Deadly Modesto Crash May Have Started As Race
MODESTO (CBS13) – A deadly crash may have started with two cars racing overnight, possibly with gunfire exchanged, investigators say.
Police have Prescott Road at Mount Vernon Drive blocked off for the investigation as of early Friday morning.
The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. when police say the call first came in as a report of shots fired.
Investigators are now trying to determine if there was a shooting between the two cars before they both crashed.
One of the drivers, a man, died at the scene.
Police have not said if anyone else was hurt or if anyone is under arrest, but they are looking for anyone who may have seen the crash to help piece together what happened.
