Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Neighbor At Duarte Party

DUARTE, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County authorities say a man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his neighbor following an argument at a house party in Duarte.

Sheriff's Deputy Crystal Hernandez says deputies responded Friday night to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.

They arrived to find a 35-year-old man dead with gunshot wounds.

Witnesses said the victim and the suspect had argued and the suspect went home to retrieve a handgun. He returned and fired multiple rounds before driving off in a white Toyota truck.

The gunman, who was not identified, was caught after a short vehicle chase. City News Service says the weapon was found in the truck.

Investigators say the two men lived in separate residences on the same property.
