Raiders File To Trademark 'Las Vegas Raiders'

Forbes has reported that the Oakland Raiders have file an application for the trademark 'Las Vegas Raiders.'

Raiders filed the trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on August 20 of this year. Forbes points out that all the application was "filed with an intent to use the mark in commerce in the future."

Now, this action may worry many fans that their team will in fact move to Las Vegas in the near future. The creation of a Las Vegas sports stadium has been receiving support on many fronts and is currently under review by the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee.

Raider Nation should not panic just yet. Filing for trademarks is a common practice.

Last year, when three NFL teams for fighting to move to LA. The Chargers applied to the trademark 'LA Rams' and, yet, the team is still in San Diego.
