Search And Rescue Volunteer Survives Bullet Near His Spine

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - A search and rescue volunteer who was shot while looking for a missing man is now home from the hospital.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office says Steve Wolf went through two surgeries and is expected to make a full recovery. This is despite the fact the bullet was lodged near his spine, the sheriff's office says.

Wolf was shot back on August 9 while hiking in a rugged canyon near Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park. Authorities have not been able to find the suspect.

The sheriff's office says Wolf plans on returning to the volunteer search and rescue team.
