Store Employees At Vacaville Outlets Robbed At Gunpoint

VACAVILLE (CBS13) - Employees at a popular clothing store were robbed at gunpoint after closing Sunday night.

Police said it happened just after 9. An employee was taking a short break out front of the True Religion store when he was approached by two men.

"As soon as he opened the door two males came up behind him with guns and demand money," said Lt. Chris Polen with Vacaville Police Department.

Polen said one man had his face covered and the other was wearing a hoodie when the suspects forced four employees into the store at gunpoint to deliver the cash.

"These type of robberies always concern us as a police department and as a community because it's takeover style, but using [a] gun, and that's concerning to us," he said.

The incident didn't stop business the following day. The outlets were packed full of people and many didn't have a clue what had happened the night before.

"That's one of my favorite stores. It didn't look like a problem when I walked in there today," said Chef Lakee while shopping and visiting family.

The outlets are lined with surveillance cameras and investigators hope that will lead to an arrest.

"Factory outlet stores were closed and most of our citizens have left, or the merchants had left, so we're contacting businesses to see if they can provide us with some additional information as they were closing maybe they saw something," Polen said.
