Protesters Push Sacramento City Council On Police Shooting Investigations

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Holding police officers accountable and transparency took center stage at Tuesday night's Sacramento city council meeting.

Dozens of people spoke in protest of how the city is handling recent officer-involved shootings.

Saying the city is not being open about the investigations.

Dazion Flenaugh was shot in April by Sacramento police and his family says they have yet to get the official story from the city.

"To hear the stories from the news reporters about what happened and not have the official story, but know there was an official outcome is ridiculous," said Jamal Stanford, a family member of Daizon Flenaugh.

Members of the group Black Lives Matter, the NAACP and the group Law Enforcement Accountability Directive (L.E.A.D.) were also at tonight's meeting calling for equality within the city.
