Sacramento Forecast: 100 On Monday, Mid-70s By First Day Of Fall

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Get ready for a roller coaster of a weather week just in time for the start of fall.

We're starting things off with high temperatures in the Sacramento area expected to hit 100 degrees today for the second day in a row.

But then the weather pattern will get ready Thursday's Autumnal Equinox, with temperatures dropping into the low-90s on Tuesday, the low-80s on Wednesday with mid-70s for the first day of fall.

Those cooler temperatures will be short-lived as temperatures will be back in the 80s and 90s by the weekend.

The cooler weather isn't all good news, though. The low-pressure system that's causing the cooling is expected to bring mountain showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, with possible breezy conditions and lightning strikes.
