Stockton Police Identify Suspect Shot In Front Of Home

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Stockton Police have identified a man who was shot after confronting officers with a handgun on Sunday.

Rodrigo Nayotl-Acuahuitl, 33, was shot by officers at a home on the 2500 block of E. Roosevelt Street. He's expected to survive.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired found him at the home, where he pointed the gun and fired at officers. Four Stockton Police officers opened fire, striking him.

Nayotl-Acuahuitl will be booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon on police officers and being in possession of suspected cocaine.

Investigators found multiple live shell casings from the weapon around the suspect and at least one bullet in his pants pocket.

The four patrol officers have been placed on paid administrative leave. Stockton Police identified them as

  • Rodger Holscher (hired 2012)
  • Albert Marquez (hired 2013)
  • Courtlyn Chappell (hired 2013)
  • Daniel Fitterer (hired 2014)
