SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice has changed his tone about Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the national anthem.

Rice tweeted out his support for Kaepernick on Tuesday in the wake of a police shooting in the wake of the shooting death of Terrance Crutcher in Tulsa Oklahoma. Video surfaced of the unarmed black man being shot and killed on a Tulsa road.

Rice’s stance is a change from last month, when the controversy over Kaepernick’s silent protest during the national anthem began.

Kaepernick said on Tuesday he’s facing death threats, but if those threats were carried out, he says it would just prove his message.
