CHP: Woman Struck, Killed By Car Near Citrus Heights

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - Authorities say a woman was killed after being struck by a car near Citrus Heights Monday evening.

The scene is along the 6500 block of Coyle Avenue. California Highway Patrol says they responded to the scene just after 7:30 p.m.

Officers believe a woman stepped out in front of a Lexus traveling on Coyle Avenue and was struck. The woman was taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.

CHP says the driver of the Lexus turned around and stayed at the scene of the crash.

The woman's identity has not been released. CHP is still investigating the incident.
