Fall Weather Returns, Winter Weather Advisory For Sierra On Sunday

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - If you didn't already feel like fall is here, this weekend should change your mind.

Saturday is expected to be sunny and breezy, much like the weather across Northern California was on Friday.

The weather will start to change late Sunday morning, however. Beginning around 11 a.m., showers are expected to start rolling into the valley and will stick around into the evening. Expect light rainfall totals in the valley, but the foothills could see around .25".

Things will get interesting in the high Sierra. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect above the 6000' mark from 11 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Interstate 80 and Highway 50 passes might see between 1-3" of snow accumulation.

Rain and snow showers will taper off Monday morning, and temperatures are expected to return to the mid-70s by Tuesday.
