SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – A student who allegedly brought an airsoft gun to school prompted a lockdown on Friday.
The incident happened at Valley High School. Dispatchers said they got a report about a student possibly with a gun in his waistband. The school was placed on lockdown, a district official said.
Deputies responded to the school and detained a student. The weapon was found to be an airsoft gun, deputies say.
The student faces disciplinary action of up to expulsion or arrest, the school district says, for breaking police of taking a gun onto campus.
Letters will be sent out to parents asking them to remind students that all weapons are prohibited at school.
