One Man Charged With Protecting 'Coloring Book' Sculpture At Golden 1 Center

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Artwork is a major part of the new arena, especially one $8 million piece.

And Tuesday night at Paul McCartney's opening concert, Jeff Koons' "Coloring Book" sculpture had special protection.

Staff were all smiles for the first major event at Golden 1 Center. But make no mistake, when it comes to security they are all business.

Michael White moved quickly around the sculpture to get people off the bench of the "Coloring Book" artwork.

It's a spot where a lot of people were taking photo after photo.

White made sure every single fan stayed off the bench. He said that since his shift started at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, he pulled 51 people off.

And that was before the crush of people leaving the arena after McCartney's concert wrapped up.
