Sacramento Man Arrested, Accused Of Taking Part In Child Porn Ring

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - An investigation by San Francisco police led officers to a child pornography ring and a Sacramento man who allegedly participated in the ring.

In late March of this year, SFPD Internet Crimes Against Children Unit launched an investigation into two people, who, they say, allegedly uploaded and downloaded child pornography involving children under the age of 10.

The unit arrested the two, Gary Waite, age 38; and Danica Morais age 34; both of San Francisco, on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. But it didn't stop there. Through their investigation, police say they discovered that Wait and Morais were also distributing the materials to people living San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sacramento.

One suspect was identified as Lorenzo Brown, 36, of San Francisco. Police say he was saving the digital files that were being sent to him. Already in jail on unrelated charges, he was later charged on August 3 with possession of child pornography.

On August 16, L.A. police arrested Justyn Tomblyn, 25, on the charge of possessing child pornography. And in mid-September, officers in Sacramento arrested Michael Brown, 42, on the same charge.

Anyone who may have been a victim or had any suspicious contact with the suspects is asked to contact the Special Victims Unit (415) 558-5500.
