A scuba diver was amazingly unhurt during a recent close encounter with a shark off a Mexican island.

The video, which was posted to YouTube on Thursday, shows a great white shark breaching an underwater diving cage near Guadalupe Island, off Mexico's West Coast, according to a father who runs the YouTube channel Gabe and Garrett. After the bleeding shark finally left the cage, the tension lifts as the diver finally emerges without any injuries.

After the bleeding shark finally left the cage, there are tense moments before the diver finally emerges -- surprisingly without any injuries.

"This shark lunged at the bait, accidentally hit the side of the cage, was most likely confused and not able to swim backward, it thrust forward and broke the metal rail of the cage," according to a caption posted along with the video.

The diver is reportedly an experienced dive instructor who calmly left the cage while the shark was caught inside. He swam back up to the surface after the shark made its way out.
