Rain Arrives In Time For Lunch In Sacramento As Leaves Raise Ponding Concerns

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The rain has finally made its way down to Sacramento in time to soak people's lunch breaks.

The rain started falling just before noon on Friday in Sacramento.

Earlier in the day, the rain was already falling around 9 a.m. and residents were happy to see the rain coming as the state still wrestles with the remnants of a long drought.

The big concern in the area comes from leaves. Being the first significant widespread rain of the season, there are plenty of leaves coming off trees and filling gutters. Clogged storm drains can create dangerous ponding conditions for drivers.
