Police Say Deadly Las Vegas Freeway Shooting Was Random

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a gunman was randomly shooting at cars on the freeway when he killed a woman and wounded a man.

Authorities booked 29-year-old Kenneth McDonald on Saturday on several charges including murder.

They say more charges are expected because of the multiple crime scenes.

Police say they received reports just before 9:30 a.m. that someone in a vehicle was firing shots on I-15.

Officers found a man and woman in one car with gunshot wounds.

The woman died at the hospital. The man remains in stable condition.

About 15 minutes after the incident, police were called to a drugstore about a suspect with two handguns who tried to sexually assault a woman.

Responding officers took McDonald into custody and determined he was the suspect in the shooting.
