Stockton Mayor's Felony Charge In Strip Poker Recording Case Reduced To Misdemeanor
STOCKTON (CBS13) — Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva will now be facing a misdemeanor charge in a case that arose from a recording of a strip poker game at a youth camp.
Silva was charged in August after video of a strip poker game emerged. Lawyers for Silva released the recording of the alleged strip poker game just before his August court date. The recording appeared to also involve underage drinking.
A felony charge against the mayor for an alleged illegal recording was reduced to a misdemeanor after a conference with the judge on Tuesday.
Silva faces re-election in November against City Councilman Michael Tubbs, who emerged from June's primary with a sizable lead over the incumbent.
