Deputies: Man Runs After Traffic Stop, Leaves Behind Young Child
EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) - Authorities are looking for man who ran away from a traffic stop, leaving behind a toddler.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says Matthew Nevieux has two felony warrants out for his arrest. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the sheriff's office says deputies tried to pull Nevieux over recently.
Nevieux allegedly bailed, however, and left behind a 1-year-old child in the car.
Deputies were not able to find Nevieux, and child has since been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
While waiting for CPS to arrive, a deputy made sure the child was warm and comforted the toddler.
Anyone who knows where Nevieux might be is asked to call the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
