Kings Finalize Roster: Waive Draft Pick Cousins, Veteran Farmar
The Sacramento Kings have cut the roster down to 15, finalizing the opening day roster for the 2016-17 season.
According to Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Vlade Divac, the final two cuts made before the league Monday 2 p.m. deadline were two guards: rookie second round draft pick Isaiah Cousins and veteran Jordan Farmar.
This leaves the roster with seven guards (Arron Afflalo, Matt Barnes, Darren Collison, Ty Lawson, Ben McLemore, rookie Malachi Richardson and Garrett Temple), four forwards (Omri Casspi, Rudy Gay, rookie Skal Labissiere and Anthony Tolliver) and four centers (Willie Cauley-Stein, DeMarcus Cousins, Kosta Koufos and rookie George Papagiannis).
Collison, who is serving his eight-game suspension to begin the season, will be out as the opening day starter, while newcomer Lawson will fill in.
The Kings will also have three 2016 draft picks making the roster in Richardson, Labissiere and Papagiannis.
