ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — It wasn't downtown Chicago, but it sure felt like it. Rosati's Restaurant in Roseville was packed with Cubs fans.

The Chicago style pizzeria opened 14 months ago. The owner Christine Grau, called Wednesday one for the record books.

"This is like a little slice of Chicago," said Vince Cosme. He moved to California from Chicago two years ago.

The fans hung on every pitch and counted down every out.

"This is what I've been waiting for since I was born in 1945," said Jay Paulus.

For some, young and old Wednesday's game seven was about more than just baseball. Their pride runs as deep as the pizza they eat.

"I can't believe it," said Paulus.

Those feelings of anticipation and excitement have been building for decades.

"You've waited for this. Every year you said, next year, next year," said Paulus.

Moments after the final out was made, pure elation form the dozens of people inside.

"Thank you Lord!" shouted one woman who says she's been waiting for this moment since she was born 84 years ago.
