2 Killed In Roseville Crash After Speeding Away From Deputies

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people in Roseville early Friday morning.

The scene is near Industrial Avenue and Alantown Drive.

Roseville police say Placer County Sheriff's deputies had tried to pull over a car on Industrial Avenue, near Placer Corporate Drive, when the driver sped away. The car then hit the center median, ejecting the driver; the car went off the road and soon caught fire.

Police say the driver of the car was ejected in the crash. A passenger remained inside the car. Both were later pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The incident is still under investigation and Industrial Avenue between Freedom Way and Justice Center Drive, along with Alantown Drive between Blue Oaks Boulevard and Industrial Avenue, is closed for the time being.
