Roseville Mother Wants To Thank Good Samaritans Who Helped Her After Crash

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - A Roseville mother and her four-year-old daughter are grateful to have survived a terrible crash that could have easily taken their life.

"It was terrifying. I was so hesitant to look back in the car at my daughter 'cause I didn't know what I was gonna see," said Michelle Bartley.

Bartley was behind the wheel of a truck, driving in the rain Sunday afternoon when the truck hydroplaned, spun out of control and crashed into a tree at a speed she says of about 40 mph.

"I realized the steering column had pinned me in, and the first thing I did was wiggle my toes to make sure I wasn't paralyzed," she said.

The accident happened on Pleasant Grove in Roseville just before 2 p.m. Bartley's four-year-old daughter Lily was in the backseat.

"We were spinning and we crashed into a tree ... I cried, it just startled me," said Lily.

Bartley says there were a number of angels who came to her aid.

"I pulled up right away got out and ran to the driver's side, checked on her, made sure she was ok ... at the same time I tried to call 911," said Mike Tedder.

Tedder was the first good Samaritan to jump in. Then another stranger, a nurse, happened to stop and offered help Bartley's passenger who was knocked unconscious.

"When I first arrived there was somebody there holding the passenger's neck in place," said officer Nathan Hance from the Roseville Police Department. But even more remarkable was a couple who stopped and took Lily into their car.

But even more remarkable was a couple who stopped and took Lily into their car.

"So they took the time to put her in their car, gave her one of their cellphones and turned on some videos on YouTube for her. They just kept her warm and safe while we were dealing with the accident," said Officer Hance.

The couple spent an hour shielding Lily from seeing her mom hurt.

"They were there at the right time, and they made a huge impact in my life, and I'm forever grateful to them," said Bartley.

Lily was uninjured, and Bartley and her passenger walked away with just cuts and bruises.

Now just days before Thanksgiving, this mother and daughter have a lot to be thankful for and are searching for the kind-hearted couple who stopped and watched over Lily.

"I want to find them. These good people were there, and I just want to say thank you, and I appreciate them very very much," said Bartley.

Bartley has shared her story on Facebook, and her post has been shared hundreds of times.

And she's hoping that maybe that couple is watching and will reach out.
