Reno Area High School Student Shot By Campus Police Officer

RENO (CBS13) — A student allegedly waving knives at a school was shot by a campus police officer on Wednesday.

Video of the incident shows the student in white pants and a blue shirt lunging at students with what appears to be two knives in his hands before being shot in the shoulder.

The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, during the lunch hour at Reno's Hug High School.

The student was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. The school was placed on lockdown immediately after the shooting.

Police are reviewing video to see what led to the knife waving and subsequent shooting.
