Loose Cows Struck, Killed On Jackson Highway

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Part of Jackson Highway east of Rancho Cordova is closed Monday morning due to an accident involving cows.

The scene is a little east of Sunrise Boulevard on Jackson Highway.

Authorities say at least seven loose cows were struck by cars. Some of the cows were killed, others are still on the loose.

It is unclear how the cows got loose, or who they belong to.

Jackson Highway is closed between Sunrise and Grant Line Road for the time being.
