Man Arrested On Homicide Charge After Deadly Modesto Crash In August
MODESTO (CBS13) - Police have arrested a Modesto man suspected of homicide in connection with a shooting and crash that left a teenager dead.
Thirty-three-year-old Scott Bates Jr. was taken into custody on Tuesday.
Investigators say that back in August two vehicles were speeding in the area of Prescott Road and Mount Vernon Drive when one of the vehicles crashed, throwing out a 17-year-old Modesto teen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The teen also had a gunshot wound, say police.
