Containment Grows On Winter Fire In Yolo County

WINTERS (CBS13) – A wildfire in Yolo County that prompted evacuations has grown to over 1,800 acres as of Friday morning.

The fire – which started on Thursday – is burning along Highway 128, about three miles southwest of Winters. Cal Fire says the fire has been 25 percent contained.

As of Friday morning, mandatory evacuations are still in place for Golden Bear Estates and people living off Pacitas Road.

Winds helped the fire quickly jump in size on Thursday.

People in the area say the fire may have started by a car blowing a tire, but Cal Fire says they’re still investigating.

For residents in the area, they say this is the fourth year in a row they had to evacuate because of a fire.
