Twin Volleyball Coaches Accused Of More Sexual Crimes Against Children

LINCOLN (CBS13) — Twin brothers who coached volleyball in Placer County were arrested on Wednesday. They're charged with more sex crimes against children.

They were trusted with overseeing children and teens in their role as volleyball coaches for several years.

Now, Jason and Robert Cole are accused of unthinkable acts against teens and children.

"We are concerned that there are other victims out there that have not come forward yet," said Sgt. Matt Alves with the Lincoln Police Department.

In April 2017, Jason Cole was arrested for having oral sex with a sleeping teenager.

Jason was previously a youth volleyball coach at Roseville High School. A spokesperson for the school district says they aren't aware of any student victims.

Cole also coached with the Northern California Volleyball Club. The executive director had no comment.

Weeks ago in late April, Jason's brother, Robert Cole was arrested for a slew of sex crimes against children including forceful sodomy and lewd acts with children younger than 15 and 10.

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree so to speak. It just makes me sick, the whole thing," said an acquaintance of both brothers CBS13 spoke to last month when Robert was first arrested.

"It makes me feel bad for the people that are affected by it," the man continued.

On Wednesday, more charges levied against both men. They're accused of additional lewd acts with a teen.

"Right now we're not saying the exact number of victims, but there were multiple," said Alves.

Both men are in the Placer County Jail. Alves says based on their investigation, more victims will likely come forward.

"They can report what's been done to them and we will investigate and we have the resources available to look into what happened and hold people accountable," said Alves.

Robert Cole is also facing harassment charges from Earlier this year. Jason Cole has said he is innocent and was set up. The brothers' next court date has not been scheduled.
