Small Plane Crashes At Auburn Airport

AUBURN (CBS13) – A small plane has crashed at the Auburn Airport.

The incident happened early Monday afternoon and involved a single-engine Cessna 172, according to the FAA.

Photos from Cal Fire's Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit show a small plane upside down in a field. The pilot was the only person onboard and sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Auburn Airport Operations Officer Walt Wilson said the pilot was on a touch-and-go landing when the plane stalled.

The Auburn Airport is closed until NTSB completes their investigation.
