HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California company is recalling dried mushroom slices sold at Costco Wholesale stores that may have been contaminated with chemicals.

L.A. Link Corporation issued the voluntary recall Wednesday for Shitake-Ya brand gourmet shitake mushroom slices with a sell-by date of April 16, 2013.

The mushrooms were sold at Costco locations in California, Oregon and Washington.

The company says it discovered the mushrooms may have been contaminated with carbendazim and other chemicals.

Carbendazim is a fungicide used to control plant diseases.

The contamination was found after U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulators tested a product sample.

Shitake mushrooms are common to Asian cuisines and have a meaty cap and woody stems.

They are often sold dried and are reconstituted for cooking.

The voluntary recall by River Ranch Fresh Foods of Salinas initially included lettuce shipped to California and Colorado. The company said Monday it had expanded the recall to the entire nation.

The bagged salads are sold under the names River Ranch, Farm Stand, Hy-Vee, Marketside, Shurfresh, The Farmer’s Market, Cross Valley, Fresh n Easy, Promark, and Sysco.

The recalled retail and foodservice salad bags have “best by” dates between May 12 and May 29 or Julian dates of 118 and 125. The code date is typically located in the upper right hand corner of the bags.

Target says the plastic bunny ear on the Bunny Sippy Cup can poke a child in the eye when in use.

Target has gotten report of six kids being poked in the eye while using the sippy cup. In three of those incidents, the children actually had cuts and bruises.

The recall involves about 264,000 of Target Home Bunny Sippy Cups sold in two styles, pink and blue.

The cups have handles on both sides and have a white bunny head screw-on lid with one bent ear and one straight ear.

The cups can be identified by imprints on the bottom: “TARGET 200020683″ for pink and “TARGET 200020884″ for the blue.

The sippy cups were sold at Target stores from February 2012 to April 5, 2012 for $3. Consumers can return their cups to target for a full refund.

DETROIT (AP) — Honda says it is recalling more than 550,000 CR-V and Pilot SUVs because the low-beam headlights can fail.

The automaker says it will fix a problem with the headlight wiring. Affected vehicles include 2002-2004 CR-Vs and 2003 Pilots.

Honda says there isn’t enough slack in the wiring leading to the headlight switch. Over time the wires can work their way loose and cut off the low-beam lights. No crashes or injuries have been reported due to the problem.

Owners will get recall notices in the mail starting in late April.

People can check to see if their SUVs are part of the recall by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009 and picking option four.

ONTARIO, Calif. (AP) — Ontario-based R & R Imports says it is voluntarily recalling all Chef’s Pride Rewadi candy because of elevated levels of lead.

In a statement Monday, the company says a recent analysis of the candy, imported from Pakistan, contained lead levels as high as 0.12 parts per million — above the legal limit in California.

The chewy, sweet, sesame seed candy is packed in 7-ounce jars.

The company says the candy could cause health problems, particularly to infants, children and pregnant women.

R & R Imports says consumers should not eat the candy and return it to the place of purchase.
