The 49ers winning streak is going to receive a serious challenge this week against a Panthers team that is playing (almost) as well as San Francisco. The 49ers are the better team top to bottom though, and if they can avoid any letdown from a week off, will stretch their winning streak to six.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) All-Pro 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was activated to the 53-man roster from the non-football injury list Thursday, two days after he turned himself in to Santa Clara County authorities as he faces […]
San Francisco has hit the midway point in their season and with a 6-2 record, they have to be happy with the overall play of the team. They have gotten a positive contribution from just about every member of the roster, and the only real gripes have to be a questionable offensive game plan to start the season and a free agent pick up that has not lived up to expectations.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) All-Pro 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith turned himself in to Santa Clara County authorities this week, then immediately posted $75,000 bail. Santa Clara County district attorney’s spokesman Sean Webby confirmed Thursday that Smith […]
While his stats don’t jump out at you, and with the 49er passing offense ranked 31st of 32 teams one would not think that Colin Kaepernick is having a great season. However, a look inside the numbers show that Colin Kaepernick is not only having a good season, but the past few weeks has played better than any other player at the position, ever.
After his struggles in the return game Sunday, Kyle Williams should be one of the several roster cuts San Francisco is going to have to make as they welcome back several players. It’s not that Williams has been abysmal, but there is no denying the fact that he is taking up valuable room on a talented team that needs as many open roster spots as they can get.
LONDON (AP) The San Francisco 49ers have won five games in a row and are keeping things interesting in the NFC West. And a bye week may be just what the Niners need if they […]
After beating up on the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, there is not a NFL team in a better position than the San Francisco 49ers. They have won 5 straight, have a week off to rest up, continue to get better on the field, and with several players getting over lingering injures, the 49ers figure to be even better the next time they hit the field.
San Francisco enters this week’s game healthy. They had 7 players limited in practice Thursday, but not a single one will really be hampered by it during the game. Jacksonville on the other hand will be affected on both sides of the ball by various injured starters.
Tim Kawakami, columnist for Mercury News, joins Grant to discuss Aldon Smith’s legal troubles. Tim projects that Smith will report back to the team in a couple weeks. Tim spends some time talking with Grant […]
The California Department of Occupational Safety and Health has reopened its investigation into the death of a Sacramento County elevator worker killed while working at the 49ers new stadium.
While the 49ers have had arguably the best punter in the game the past few seasons, the same can’t be said for their kicking game. Last year Special teams play hurt San Francisco during the regular season and again in Super Bowl. So far in 2013, the 49ers have shored up this weakness, and continue to strengthen their argument as the most complete team in the league.
