Sacramento Children’s Home 150th Anniversary GalaOn Saturday, September 16th, 2017 the Sacramento Children’s Home held their 150th Anniversary Gala at Memorial Auditorium. The 150th Gala was an evening of celebration. Celebrating the Home’s history as Sacramento’s oldest active nonprofit as well as a look to the future of serving children and families in our community.The event was attended by approximately 400 generous supporters and community leaders including Congresswoman Doris Matsui and Supervisor Phil Serna. Attendees enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, exquisite wines and live music from Supervisor Phil Serna’s UnSupervised Band. The SCH 150th Anniversary Gala was a hugely successful event, raising a total of approximately $421,000 to support the Sacramento Children’s Home Crisis Nursery Program.

Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Scholarship & Awards DinnerThe Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 15th anniversary Thursday, Sept. 14, at the 2017 Crystal Gala Scholarship and Awards Dinner held at Dante Club. Honorees included 2017 Rainbow Chamber Business Leaders of the Year Steven Walker of Fast Break Tech and Jason Russell of Russell CPAs, as well as SMUD Supplier Diversity Advocate Lori Okamoto, who received a special Leadership in Action Award, and nine students who received Rainbow Chamber Foundation scholarships. Proceeds of live and silent auctions presented by Steve Godfryd of Pacific Auction Co. will benefit the Rainbow Chamber Foundation Scholarship Fund. Guests capped off the evening at a Studio 54-themed VIP after-party.

Lurkers are all around us unfortunately and will never engage, even when called out.     I have no idea where to go next, I really REALLY mean it! This story has been stuck in the mud since (checks the dmnuoect properties) oh dear lord, September 2005!So come on, more ideas!We need setting (some kind of office is implied from the intro, but what sort of office/how big is open).We need a wider cast of characters.And perhaps most importantly, we need a plot. Or at least a goal that Colin will be aiming towards. So far the CC thinks Colin needs a pet, Moose has some madcap scheme involving global warming and a character straight out of the pages of a Clive Cussler novel, whilst JB just seems to want to hear more about Amanda the Well Endowed :rolleyes_wp:Oh, and expect something with minimal dialogue. I suck at doing voices. My father was always great doing the voices when he read for me as a kid. Sadly, that’s one talent I haven’t inherited.(And I do apologize for the style, but I was heavily under the influence of Tom Holt (and thesis stress) when I wrote that bit).
