Republican Rep. Dan Lungren has lost his re-election bid to Democratic challenger Ami Bera in one of California’s most hotly contested congressional contests.
In one of the closest political races of the election, Dr. Ami Bera has extended his lead over incumbent Dan Lungren to occupy California’s 7th Congressional seat.
The polls closed three nights ago, but the Dan Lungren and Ami Bera race, one of the most expensive congressional races in the country, is still too close to call, even with more votes counted Friday.
Dr. Ami Bera and Dan Lungren have been deadlocked in one of the most competitive political races of this election, but Bera now has increased his lead for the congressional seat.
About a dozen of California’s 53 congressional seats are up for grabs, which makes California the most competitive state for house seats in the nation.
