Grocery Outlet Puts Harris Ranch Beef Back On Shelves After Lab Finds Coarse Salt, Not Glass In Product
Grocery Outlet stores nationwide have resumed selling Harris Ranch beef after a laboratory hired by the meat company found what appeared to be coarse salt in the product, and not chips of glass as a customer had originally reported.
Mike Pouard says he bought Harris Ranch 5-pound pre-packaged ground beef last week from a Grocery Outlet store in Oakley. When his wife was making a meatloaf dinner, he says she found glass while she was mixing the meat with seasoning and eggs. A piece of the glass actually cut his hand.
