The state attorney general’s office says the number of hate crimes reported in California dropped 4 percent last year.
Another message of hate is being investigated as a crime. It’s the second incident in less than a week that’s causing concern in the community.

The overall number of hate crimes in California remained steady last year, but the number targeting Hispanics nearly doubled.
