This was supposed to be a year where the Raiders would finally have a winning season and possibly challenge for a playoff spot. But under new head coach Dennis Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie, the team’s rebuilding efforts were largely unsuccessful. A few players showed promise but overall, it was a frustrating season for the organization and the team’s long suffering fans.
After almost a week of waiting, head coach Dennis Allen makes it official by naming Terrelle Pryor as his starting quarterback in Sunday’s finale at San Diego. Pryor hasn’t started a game since he won the 2011 Sugar Bowl while at Ohio State. Cornerback Philip Adams is on injured reserve with a groin injury and has been replaced by Brandian Ross.
Troubled linebacker Rolando McClain was absent from practice Wednesday for “team related issues.” McClain has been a major disappointment and has seen his playing time drastically reduced since the first month of the season. Running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson returned to practice for the first time in nearly a month.
