Great Moments In Baseball History: Catfish Hunter’s 1968 Perfect Game For The Oakland A’s

The 1968 Oakland Athletics were somewhat unremarkable their first season in the Bay Area after moving from Kansas City. They finished 82-80, good enough for sixth place in the 10-team American League. Catfish Hunter posted a 13-13 record and the worst ERA (3.35) of any Oakland starter in 1968, but for one glorious day in May, he was perfect.

The Twins have two of the top prospects in baseball in their farm system in Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano, but they’ll probably start the season in the Minors. Until they reach MLB, the club can still be excited by the arrival of Vargas, who right at the start of 2015 should bring a pure power presence the Twins were really lacking for much of last season.
