When the 49ers play a solid game as a team they are tough to beat. They took on an undefeated Eagles team and if not for 49er mistakes, would have blown out the road team. Even with several early mistakes, the 49ers rebounded and earned a hard fought win over a serious playoff contender.
For the 49ers to avoid a 3 game losing streak they will have to beat the Philadelphia Eagles. San Francisco should be able to win, especially at home, but not if they play like they have the past two weeks.
There are a good amount of teams this season that will be looking to their quarterbacks to bring everything together to be on the winning path. Here is my list of quarterbacks that need a big 2014 season….
A season of transition brought a new coach with a breath of fresh air and a new identity as a team. There were adjustments along the way as Chip Kelly adjusted to life as an NFL coach after serving an entire career at the college level, but his players bought in to the mentality Kelly introduced to them and fought their way to an NFC East division title few saw coming before the season started.
The New Orleans Saints had never won a road playoff game and were often marred by their road woes and the “cold curse.” Temperatures in Philadelphia were down in the twenties and Drew Brees was faltering, but the Saints left it in the hands, or on the foot, of their newest player in Shayne Graham.
A last-second field goal by Shayne Graham brought an end to the first season of the Chip Kelly era as the Saints left Philadelphia with a 26-24 victory in the NFC Wild Card playoff. The time for season-long evaluations will come over the coming week, but for now let’s take a quick look at how the Eagles performed in this game.

Any time a team allows an offensive NFL record to be set against them, it hasn’t been a good day.
It was announced on Monday that Michael Vick was already ruled out for the Raiders game against the Eagles in Week 9. Chip Kelly was expected to bring in an explosive new offensive scheme that would send the Eagles soaring, but injuries have caused a dive bomb and the Raiders are looking to take advantage.
The Philadelphia Eagles were expected to compete for not only a playoff spot this season, but the NFC’s spot in the Super Bowl. Now, they’re sitting at 3-5 and down to their third string quarterback who is just a rookie out of USC. The Oakland Raiders are hoping to have a field day with Matt Barkley leading the Eagles to the Coliseum.
