Police say he was stolen late Wednesday night as the Liar’s Bench Bar next door closed. People at the bar say he was later found lying in front of city hall.
The lights are out at Hangtown Haven, and now the people who slept there every night will have to find a new place to stay.
The Placerville woman wanted to help. She learned that the grave she was looking for belonged to Mason Brown, a man who came to California in 1849 from Maine during the Gold Rush.
