Going out for a great meal is a tried and true plan for couples, especially with the wide range of exceptional culinary choices in the Sacramento region. But sometimes you want to do something a bit different than the traditional dinner and movie, something that can make your date more memorable, exciting or unique. If movies like "Dirty Dancing", "Stomp the Yard" and "Step Up" make you want to hit the dance floor, head for this longstanding East Sac institution. You don't need major dance moves to enjoy your evening, even if you have two left feet. Before the floor opens for guests, BOS offers fun, affordable lessons on East and West Coast swing dancing, Latin, ballroom, country, rhythm, line dancing and even the Lindy Hop. Lessons are available at levels from basic to advanced, so everyone is ready to go when the real music starts. There is also a special time one afternoon a week for seniors to dance to the music that moved their generation.

In addition to being a world class art museum, Crocker has many other options for an evening out with your best girl or guy. For those with a deep appreciation for art, there are special events like a lecture by Emmanuelle Brugerolles, a chief curator for the École des Beaux-Arts academy in Paris, in December, 2015. Attend an evening of live Beat poetry in February 2016 or bring a date to one of the monthly classical music concerts. Check the calendar on the museum website for details, and remember that you can stay to dine on certain evenings at the Crocker Café by Supper Club.
