Sacramento's premiere Labor Day weekend event is back - bigger and better than ever. Held in the city's historic district, Old Sacramento will turn back the hands of time and replicate what the city looked like during the gold rush era. Gold panning, tent city, live musical performances, nighttime showing of Paint Your Wagon, country western dances, a beer crawl and much more can be experienced at this wonderful event.  The event is free and safe for the whole family.

The 52nd annual Greek festival will begin its incredible celebration on Friday, Sept. 4 with a free admission from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, Saturday and Sunday's general admission will cost $5 for adults and $4 for seniors. Kids under 12 are free the entire weekend. The event features authentic Greek festivities including incredible food, a Greek village environment, dancing and more. It's a great opportunity to experience this beautiful culture by soaking up some amazing Greek traditions and activities. Not only do you get to enjoy the food and dancing, there will be opportunities to learn how to prepare these tasty dishes and to perform the various dances. The 25th Chalk It Up Festival promises to be a fun and entertaining event for kids of all ages. The goal of this event is to raise funds for local youth art programs and is hosted by the Chalk It Up non-profit organization. The festival is a chance for kids to come out and enjoy the kids' activities and for everyone to look at the 200 sidewalk chalk paintings done by local artists. There will be live local bands, food and a beer garden for those adults over the age of 21. This is a great opportunity to support your local community and have a great holiday weekend.

There's also arts and crafts, free chef demos and a chance for local residents to meet with local businesses.
