With three locations already open and two on the way, Urban Dog & Sausage seems to be doing everything right in the hot dog world. This establishment only serves premium Vienna Beef brand hot dogs, which are brought in from Chicago, and are unlike any in the area. Cold beer is also served in this easy going environment, so pull up a chair, order a hot dog and cold beer and take a load off (or on depending upon your hot dog selection).

This restaurant specializes in hot dogs, sausages and kraut dogs. Wiener is known to serve extremely large portions, so be sure to bring your appetite. The establishment also serves a large selection of beer, and it changes as brands come and go, so you can expect something new occasionally. Also, Wiener Works is home to the “Wonderdog”, which 14 inches of hot dog on a loaf of soft French bread.

This restaurant is truly one of East Sacramento’s best kept secrets. The Wienery opened 35 years ago, and has made some of the best hot dogs in the Sacramento area. The Wienery specializes in old fashioned steamed hot dogs, but isn’t a one-trick-pony show… the establishment also makes soups, chili, salads and sandwiches. Also, if you’re a vegetarian, they offer a veggie dog! Check it out!

Capitol Dawg had a very complex menu….. C’mon now, we are talking Hot Dogs. Why make it so complicated?

Top Dawg on Del Paso Blvd. was the better of the two!

In addition, Top Dawg on Del Paso has BBQ Tri tip & Chicken on Thursdays!

If you like tasty old-fashioned beef hot dog without all the bells and whistles; then the Wienery is the place to go. Nothing beats a steamed frankfurter, and they do it right.
