Best Old School Arcades In Sacramento

Sac is full of small (and not so small) joints that cater to your wistful arcade memories. Arcades are also different depending on age. You can grab a brew or a cocktail and go to town, you can also find fun for the whole family. Here is a short list of key places in Sacramento where you can find old school arcade games.
Coin-Op Game Room
908 K St
Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 661-6983

Deceptive in size, the Coin-Op Game Room has it all. Old school video games and pinball machines, cheap beer, an old photo booth and excellent tunes await on the inside, while the outside has a selection of (even older school) games. Giant Jenga and chess provide refuge from the interior noise and light. Grab a brew, enjoy a few rounds of street fighter and feel your troubles melt away at this downtown gamer haven.

Scandia Family Fun Center
5070 Hillsdale Blvd
Sacramento, CA 95842
(916) 331-5757

Family fun? Sure, they do that, but this Arden Arcade spot may just be the most comprehensive arcade around. Over 150 video game s featuring everything from Ms. Pac Man to skee ball and beyond. You may not be able to drink at the games themselves but the Scandia Grill and Olga's Kitchen will provide on site fun. Oh, and also, this place is an amusement park. Seriously. Spend your non-arcade time on a roller coaster, playing mini golf or crashing thee batting cages and more.

Republic Bar & Grill

Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 822-5152

Admittedly, the Republic is know for its amazing menu, but when you're not chowing down, hit up the arcade games or check out one of the sporting events on their big screen. Pool, air hockey, skee ball and the basketball game are priced as nice as the menu (cheap!). So, spend an evening at one of Sac's premiere leisure spots.

River City Shooting Gallery
131 K St
Sacramento, CA 95814
(916) 524-5275

Taking "old school" to a new level, this Sac Old Town establishment is one of the premiere attractions in Old Sacramento. Not be confused with a shooting range, this shooting gallery is filled with mock, plastic guns. Let off some steam as an olde time voice teases your abilities as a shooter. It's fun for the whole family, in the setting of an 1800's Sacramento. Get s taste of the real wild west at the River City shooting gallery.

Socal's Tavern
East Sacramento
5200 Folsom Blvd
Sacramento, CA 95819
(916) 455-1646

Meet Sacramento's favorite dive bar arcade. Old school arcade games, shuffle board, pool tables, and the like, with beers in the $3.50 range, make SoCal's Tavern that place where everybody knows your name (as the song says). Speaking of songs, an awesome juke box with late 80s early 90s music serves as this place's soundtrack. Weekend nights fill up pretty quick, but parking is plentiful throughout the area ie. Trader Joe's).
