Best Public Pools In Sacramento

Summer is here, and it's time to get out the bathing suit and hit the water. Finding the class that suits your needs is easy with this guide, as each pool has different hours and offers a variety of classes. Search below to find the pool that is in your area, offers the class you need and in the hours that work for you. There are also wading pools for the little tyke in your family.
Cottage Pool

Hours: Monday through Friday 1-4 p.m.; Saturday through Sunday 2:30-5:30 p.m.

Cottage Pool hosts public swimming daily from June 8-Aug. 14, including Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. However, from Aug. 15 - Sept. 7, public swimming will be limited to weekends only. For those looking to get some exercise in, Cottage Pool offers Lap Swimming weekdays May 25-Aug. 14 from noon - 1 p.m. For a more relaxed de-stresser from the week, join their twilight swims available July 3-Aug. 7 every Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. You can purchase a swim punch pass, or simply choose to pay their daily fees of $2.50.

McClatchy Pool has public hours on Tuesday through Thursday and on weekends from 1-5 p.m. It's the perfect place to bring a family with all ages and abilities, as they offer swimming programs for all levels, including "Starfish," "Sea Horse," "Sea Turtle" and adult lessons. Enroll the more advanced kids in swim team, available for ages 7-17, or junior lifeguard class. To enjoy some time all together, stop by for family night on Mondays from 3-7 p.m. The pool will be open from June 16-Aug. 23 for the regular 2015 summer season.

Located in McKinley Park, Clunie Pool opened for their 2015 pre-season on May 23. Their regular hours began on June 16, running through Sept. 7. They offer swim lessons for Clunie "Blowfish," "Starfish," "Sea Shrimp," "Sea Horses," "Sea Turtles," "Sea Crabs," "Sea Eels," and adult lessons. They also have a swim team, junior lifeguard lessons, water aerobics and adult lap times they offer.

Doyle Pool

Doyle Pool opened June 9 and runs through Aug. 9 for the 2015 summer season. Family Night is Friday from 3-7 p.m. Regular hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 1-5 p.m. with weekend hours from 1-6 p.m. They offer lessons for the "Blowfish," "Starfish," "Sea Shrimp," "Sea Horses" and Sea Turtles. This inclusive pool also offers access aquatics swim lessons to children, teens and adults with special needs. For more information on the Access classes, contact Tom Del-Bon at (916) 808-6049.

Robertson Play Pool

The Robertson Play Pool opened June 8 and will close the summer season on Aug. 9. This is the perfect pool for the little tykes, featuring a shallow depth wading pool and a water slide. They are open Monday through Friday from noon – 4 p.m. and on weekends 1-5 p.m. Bring the whole family down Tuesdays from 3-7 p.m. They are closed on Thursdays.
